Be Encouraged!

I have a word of encouragement for you today. Are you struggling with doubt, feeling trapped with no way out?

  • Rest in God's word - be assured that His word and promises over that situation and your life will never fail.

Hebrews 4 vs 12 says the "For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires."

2 Corinthians 1 vs 20 - "For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us."

Numbers 23 vs 19 - "God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?"

  • God can never lie, trust His timing - though it may seem like there is no manifestation, know that it will manifest in God's time. God's timing is never late

Hebrews 6 vs 18So God has given both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us.

Habakkuk 2 vs 3 - For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end—it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay.

  • Nothing is too hard for our Father to do - let your faith be strengthened, there is no impossibility with God. There is no mountain too high, no issue too great.

Jeremiah 32 vs 27“Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for Me?

Luke 1 vs 37 - "For with God nothing will be impossible"

  • Just believe - I know sometimes it isn't as easy as it sounds. You are not alone - in Mark 9 vs 14 - 29, we see the story of a man whose son was possessed by demons. In vs 22, the father says,  "....have mercy on us and help us, if you can". Jesus replied in vs 23 is "what do you mean, 'if I can'?......anything is possible if a person believes". Immediately, the father cries out "I do believe, but help me overcome my unbelief"

In the story of Lazarus in John 11, we see Jesus do the miraculous and unexpected by raising Lazarus from the dead after 4 days. In verse 40, He says to Martha "...didn't I tell you that you would see God's glory if you believe?"

I encourage you to be as a child and believe. Even when everything seems confusing, chose to believe. Psalm 119 vs 130 says "The unfolding of Your [glorious] words give light; Their unfolding gives understanding to the simple (childlike)." Children believe what they are told, therefore, as children of the Most High, we must also believe our Father's word.

  • Ensure you are asking in line with the will of God - one hindrance to our prayers is praying outside of God's will. This is very important because it is possible to expend energy praying for something that is outside God's plan for your life. However, because of God's mercy, He could withhold that thing from us.

1 John 5 vs 14 - "Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us."

Let us allow the Holy Spirit to search our hearts in the place of prayer, so that we don't pray amiss and get disappointed when we don't see results.

I know it is easy to get discouraged, but discouragement makes it is almost impossible to pray or receive God's word.

I pray that if you are struggling in this moment that the Holy Spirit who is our comforter will comfort you, I pray He will give you strength by His Spirit, I pray He will help your unbelief, and ultimately, give you a fresh desire for Him.

Stay Encouraged! Please read the above scriptures (and others as the Holy Spirit leads you) over and over again. Allow the Holy Spirit to shed new light and give you understanding. As you do so, I pray your faith will be strengthened in Jesus name.

Whatever He says to you, do it

Mary the mother of Jesus in John 2 vs 5 said to the servants, “Whatever He says to you, do it”. When we read the story in John 2 vs 1 – 11, we see that the performance of the miracle of turning water to wine was dependent on the obedience of the servants. In verse 7 and 8 of John 2, Jesus gave them specific instructions and they obeyed , ultimately unleashing the miraculous. This reminds me of Matthew 21 vs 28 – 31, where Jesus narrated the Parable of the Two Sons. In this parable, we see Jesus differentiate between those who say they will but don’t and won’t but do . At the core of obedience is  the doing . 1 John 2 vs 17 says “ And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.” The Greek word for abide is menó , which means to be held, kept, continually remain, stay. For something to be continuous, it remains and its cycle never ends. What God wants for us as His children is to remain, to dwell with Him in His presence f...

Stay in the race

Happy New Month!😊 It has been a while since I last posted here. Today, I have a short piece for you on staying focused. Be blessed as you read. Track is one of those sports where a momentary loss of focus could cost you the race. As you run, your focus is on the finish line not your opponent. Focusing on your opponent can take your eyes off your planned pace. It is the same thing with our walk as Christians. We are called to focus on the prize and to run with endurance, not on anyone else’s pace. 1 Corinthians 9 vs 24 - Don’t you realize that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize? So run to win! Hebrews 12 vs 1 - Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us , and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, To run the race successfully and to win the prize, we must lay aside everything that weighs us down. Everything here includes worr...

The Power of the Holy Spirit

Have you surrendered your life to Jesus? Do you believe that Jesus died so that you might be saved? If your answer is yes, then my next question is - How do you know you are saved? The bible says in Romans 5 vs 8 – “ But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us .”   Remember Ephesians 2 vs 8, which we referenced here . It says we have been saved by grace through faith. Therefore, this implies that we not only believe that Jesus died for us and have faith in Him, but we also know that we have been saved from eternal destruction. Again, how do you know you have been truly made right with God? 1 Corinthians 1 vs 30  -  “God has united you with Christ Jesus. For our benefit God made him to be wisdom itself. Christ made us right with God ; he made us pure and holy, and he freed us from sin.” Romans 8 vs 15 – 16 says “So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God...
